Quickstart
Run the full GENESIS stack on a local chain: contracts, operator node, dashboard and these docs.
You need: Node.js 20 or later.
1. Install and test
bash
npm install
npm test # builds contracts + SDK, runs the contract and SDK test suites2. Start a local chain
bash
npm run chain # local Hardhat chain on 127.0.0.1:8545, mining a block every 2 secondsPort 8545 taken?
Run the chain on another port and point every tool at it:
powershell
cd contracts; $env:GENESIS_INTERVAL_MINING='1'; npx hardhat node --port 8546
$env:GENESIS_RPC_URL='http://127.0.0.1:8546' # for deploy and the operator node
$env:VITE_RPC_URL='http://127.0.0.1:8546' # for the dashboard3. Deploy
bash
npm run deploy:local # deploys everything in pre-launch mode (HYPE only)
npm run launch:local # optional: rehearse the GENESIS token launch with a mock tokenThe addresses are written to deployments/localhost.json. The node, SDK and dashboard all read them from there.
4. Run the operator node
bash
npm run operatorIt fulfills VRF requests, publishes beacon rounds, runs upkeeps and posts ETH/BTC prices. On the local chain it uses well-known dev keys, so no configuration is needed.
5. Open the dashboard and docs
bash
npm run dashboard # http://localhost:5173
npm run docs # http://localhost:5174The dashboard signs with a funded dev account, so you don't need a wallet. Roll a die, run a raffle, or stake GENESIS to see the discount tiers.
6. Scripted end-to-end check
bash
cd node
npx tsx src/demo.tsThis rolls a die and verifies its proof, runs a fair selection, and prints the beacon, oracle and automation state.
